Selachyl alcohol is an orally active antihypertensive agent. Selachyl alcohol has similar activities with antihypertensive neutral renomedullary lipid (ANRL). Selachyl alcohol is an alkylglycerol compound in shark liver oil mixture with properties that reduce lung metastasis. Selachyl alcohol can be used for cardiovascular disease research[1][2].

体内研究
(In Vivo)

Selachyl alcohol (5 和 10 mg，灌胃，5 次；1 mg，静脉注射，1 次) 降低高血压小鼠的血压[1]。

Animal Model: Male Sprague-Dawley rats with hypertension[1]
Dosage: 5 and 10 mg (oral gavage); 1 mg (i.v.)
Administration: Oral gavage, 5 and 10 mg, 10 occasions; intravenous injection, 1 mg, once
Result: Induced blood pressure drops slowly about 60 mm Hg and remains for 20 minutes. Effectively reduced blood pressure by gastrointestinal tract.
